About Me

What does one put in an "About Me" page?
It's difficult, I guess, because I'm not sure what you want to know.

I'm a daughter, obviously; and I won the parent lottery.  My parents are two of the funniest, kindest, hardest-working, most giving people on the planet, and they're really cute, too.  I'm a big sister, the oldest sister, in fact, and I've never wanted anything more than I wanted my sister and brother.  I'm math and science teacher to almost 60 6th graders.  It's a job for the curious, courageous, with a sense of humor.  I'm a wife- that's the newest one, and it's my favorite :)

I love a good cup of coffee- brewed at home, from a franchise, doesn't matter- coffee is coffee, but local coffee shops are my favorite.  My all-time favorite:  The Kookaburra in St. Augustine, Florida.  Mr. Cook and I discovered it when walking around town on the second morning of our honeymoon, and we went back 4 more times :)  I have a huge sweet tooth, and cheesecake is my favorite of the sweets.  I consider myself to be a bit of a cheesecake connoisseur.  I can be the crazy dog lady, but I prefer to think of it as just loving my pup well- our labradoodle Teddy is the sweetest ray of sunshine in our home.  Red is my favorite color, but I wear neutrals 90+% of the time.

None of that matters, though.  None of it matters without knowing Whose I am.  I'm a follower of Jesus and strive to live like it.  Struggle to live like it is more accurate sometimes.  I'm one of the world's biggest worriers, but, everyday, I try to let my faith be bigger than my fear.  I'm learning to live in grace.  To forgive and be forgiven more than 7x70.  To love and live outside of myself.  To find joy no matter the circumstance.  To be grateful and express gratitude for every little thing.
